Just Some Random Thoughts

Trying to be happy and optimistic when all you hear are announcements of "We're pregnant!" "It's a girl!" "Only X days until he/she is here!" is just downright impossible. I hate getting text messages from people I haven't talked to in months that announce either a) their pregnancy or b) ultrasound results. Can we say insensitive? If you'd talked to me, you would probably know that is going on almost FOUR years of wanting and trying for another child. I understand your joy and excitement, but seriously... leave me off the mass text messages.

Why do people eat ice cream when it's 10 degrees outside? Do we just see a sweet creamy treat and lose the ability to sense temperature? Why not have a bowl of hot soup? Or something spicy to heat us up?

If there's a decent hill at the end of an alley, and there's 3 or 4 inches of compacted snow, with 2 inches of fresh snow on top of it, why oh why garbage truck are you still trying to make it up? Are you trying to prove something? Back up, go around the corner to the OTHER END, where it's flush with the street, and try that way. I'd rather you slide down the hill, then get stuck at the end, or tear up my yard. I already have to deal with part of my sidewalk needing replaced because of September's plumbing issue, so I don't want any more work. *After 5 minutes of failed attempt, garbage truck finally did exactly what I wrote above. Poor guy who had to walk along the alley in the snow. He must have pulled the short straw*

I made muffins last night. I sat down this morning to eat some with my coffee. Out comes a smiling boy... who then takes my muffin and eats it. I asked 5 minutes ago if you wanted a muffin. I guess the muffin *I* chose was the one you wanted, huh? Darn kid!
